چکیده
There has been an increase in global interest the development of natural fiber-reinforced composites. Natural fibers extracted from plants are receiving more attention researchers, scientists, and academics due to their use polymer composites environmentally friendly nature sustainability. Recently, sisal have used a variety engineering applications like aerospace, automotive, marine, other mechanical components, where tribological properties prime consideration. In this endeavor, experiments conducted determine behavior polypropylene composite. Pin-on-disc wear tests on specimens at various combinations sliding velocities (1-3 m/s), distances (1000-3000 m), applying normal loads (10-30N). Using Response Surface Method (RSM), mathematical model developed predict friction loss (PP) To ensure validity model, Analysis variance (ANOVA) technique applied. Important process parameters material variables that exert significant influence determined with help systematic experimentation. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) probe morphological observation worn surface. Results revealed highest volumetric recorded values applied load supported by study demonstrated scratches, as well wider deeper plowing marks surfaces.

Biofibers. natural lignocellulosics, have an outstanding potential a s a reinforcement in thermoplastics. This study deals with the preparation of lignocellulosic composites by reactive extrusion processing in which good interfacial adhesion is generated by a combination of fiber modification and matrix modification methods. PP matrix was modified by reacting with maleic anhydride and subsequen...
متن کاملAn Acoustic Emission Study of Flax Fiber-Reinforced Polypropylene Composites
Sensitivity to crack propagation in flax fiber-reinforced polypropylene (PP) composites has been examined on SEN-T specimens. The sound waves that arise due to loading have been investigated with the acoustic emission method. Linear functional relationship has been revealed between the number of acoustic events that occur during loading and the fracture toughness. It has also been observed that...

Tribological performance of the hot-pressed pure Al2O3 and its composites containing various hybrid contents of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were investigated under different loading conditions using the ball-on-disc method. Benchmarked against the pure Al2O3, the composite reinforced with a 0.5 wt% GNP exhibited a 23% reduction in the friction coefficient along wit...
متن کاملChemical Modification of Flax Reinforced Polypropylene Composites
This paper presents an experimental study on the static and dynamic mechanical properties of nonwoven based flax fibre reinforced polypropylene composites. The effect of zein modification on flax fibres is also reported. Flax nonwovens were treated with zein coupling agent, which is a protein extracted from corn. Composites were prepared using nonwovens treated with zein solution. The tensile, ...
